Quizzes are a great reflection of what questions might be like on the test. Your student can re-do problems on the quizzes to make sure they are getting the right answers. Also, make sure your child is completing the problems they missed. This is very important, because they need to determine where their mistake is occurring. I do my best to note where the error occurred on the quiz and/or their work page.
Asking questions in class is SO important! I understand that sometimes students aren't comfortable asking in front of the entire group. Class time is structured so that students have work time daily, and can use this time to privately ask me questions.
In order to use the online math textbook, students should open Chrome and find the CLEVER app. Students will follow the prompts using their school email. Once the Clever app loads, the Big Ideas icon will be an option. Select the icon to open the textbook. In addition to the textbook pages, the site offers self-check quizzes, chapter tests, extra practice worksheets for each lesson, video tutorials, and virtual manipulatives.
Students can come to me during WINGS time as long as their WINGS teacher doesn't have an assignment for them to complete. I am available most mornings from 7:00-7:25, but I ask that students make an appointment to ensure that I will be at school and available.
Students takes notes during the lesson for each type example needed. A copy of my notes can be located under "Teacher Notes and Study Guides" on the course page on my Google Site.
