BLES Arts department was awarded a $18,000.00 grant that was written by Ms. Wheeler. The goal for this grant is to improve the quality of our arts program by purchasing ukuleles for the music department, providing dance/drumming residencies to all students, and providing the support necessary for a drama/art club to produce a musical performance during the school day for all students and in the evening for the community. Funding will also provide professional development and SDE Summer Institutes to enhance teachers’ understanding of the new 2017 South Carolina College-and Career Ready-Standards for the Visual and Performing Arts and provide arts integration instruction for classroom teachers. We are so excited to be offering these activities to are students some, for the very first time. Our related arts teams is the one of the best in the state and are always looking for ways to improve the quality of your child's learning experiences.
