MAP Fluency and MAP Growth
In Lexington District Two, we use MAP Reading Fluency (K-1) (screener) and MAP Growth (2-8) (benchmark) as our assessment tool to gather information on students three times a year to determine risk levels. All students are assessed based on grade level skills to determine if there are risks or if advanced instruction is needed for intervention. Once a student is benchmarked and/or Screened, the assessment will flag students in need of further support/intervention. Teachers will use this information to provide small group, targeted instruction to improve the skill that was flagged. In addition, MAP fluency provides progress monitoring for students who are flagged to ensure that the intervention/targeted support provided by the teacher and/or interventionists is working.
