At Lets Get Together we have led different community-driven projects at different Universities and Colleges for students to all collaborate together and tackle some of real world challenges. Students innovate solutions to these issues and
Past Projects

Challenge question: "Not everyone has equal access to tech and some need it for free, information based on need and requests (tickets) are not well organized"
Solution: Develop online tech support service with Let's Get Together.

Challenge question: "clients not very comfortable in using the Linux Operating System specially the Ubunutu program."
Solution: Creating videos and workshops that showcase acessibiliyy features of the computers and translating videos into other languages for better access.
This project was a collaboration between Lets Get Together, the Science Rendezvous & UofGH where it is a science festival. During this event there were different interactive activities regarding science, engineering, etc. There was also discussion on Postsecondary pathways for high school students and also an E waste drive/ tech collect.

Challenge question: "clients processing speed cannot keep up with increasing applicant volume"
Solution: Creating a system that matches applicants to computers effectively.

Challenge question: "Many university students may not have the information they need to navigate their finances effectively. There's a lot of information that can be difficult to navigate or is not accessible"
Solution: Providing financial literacy workshops to university students where they can learn how to apply for scholarships, create budgets, understand student loans, learn taxes, and more.

Challenge: "systems are becoming increasingly inefficient, siloed, and limit the organization's ability to scale, effectively engage constituents, and leverage data for informed decision-making."
Solution: implement Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. This project will establish a centralized, integrated platform to streamline operations, enhance constituent engagement, improve data management, and ultimately amplify Lets Get Together community impact.

Challenge question: "How effective is the True North Friends book that was released by Lets Get Together?"
Solution: Conducted a research study on children who read the TNF book. They found the could improve the book by simplifying language, prioritizing Growth Mindset while introducing complex concepts, portraying the learning process in greater detail, revising illustrations, and incorporating reflective questions are key recommendations that emerged from the interviews.

Challenge: rising demand for low cost technologies, more frequent replacement of devices, increased demands for digital skills and stable financial circumstances to have a sustainable impact to close the technological access gap, ensure technological accessibility gap.
Solution: The Tech4All Tutorials program should maintain growth by creating additional content which gets translated into major neighborhood languages with AI-generated voice narration and subtitles. The organization should collaborate with schools, libraries and newcomer associations to deliver workshops about digital literacy and hardware instruction.
