Philippines confirms over 20k new COVID-19 cases, no deaths due to technical glitch

MANILA - The Philippines confirmed 20,755 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the countryβs total to 2,490,858 as the more transmissible Delta variant continued to spread.
The Department of Health also reported 24,391 new recoveries, pushing the total number of Filipinos who recovered from the disease to 2,292,006.
This means that the country has a total of 161,447 active cases as of 4 p.m. Sunday.
No new deaths were also reported, as the DOHβs COVIDKaya reporting system continued to encounter glitches.
