Ynzal Marketing Corporation holds a 2D Cut-Out Animation Webinar

THURSDAY, September 16, 2021 - The Ynzal Mktg Corp. arranged a webinar entitled, "2D Cut-Out Animation", which explored the world of Digital Art and Digital Animation as a way to give back to the public via Zoom and Facebook live.

The event was facilitated by none other than Mr. John Gabriel Angelo P. Cruz, a freelance 2D Cutout Animator in Snipple Animation Studios. Mr. Cruz was a graduate of BS Animation in iAcademy and recognized for his participation in animating “Teen Titans Go! To the movies”, “Where’s Waldo”, and many more.

Mr. Cruz said that there is always a sense of fulfillment whenever you see your work on television and other streaming platforms, to which the audience agreed as well. He also stated that animated shows like “Hayop ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story”, gives Filipino animators a chance to use their skills to be acknowledged around the globe.

“Like, we also have stories to tell! Kung kaya niyo, kaya rin namin!” he encouraged, whilst on the topic of the Philippines buying the rights to stream international shows.

During the discussion, Mr. Cruz went over to talk about some well-known Digital Art & Animation tools and software such as Wacom tablets, Adobe Animate, and Toon Boom Harmony, which helped him throughout his journey as a creative 2D animator.

Furthermore, he mentioned how animators can build their portfolio and he reiterated that having a degree can help one’s career but it is not a must. “Kasi at the end of the day, they would want to see your potential and skills,” Mr. Cruz then added.

For his ending segment, Mr. Cruz answered some questions from the audience and gave tips and advice for aspiring 2D animators. "Enhance your drawing skills, and don't hesitate to use references," he remarked.

Moreover, Mr. Cruz also added that using reference isn't something to be ashamed of since it's a huge help for practicing the skill. There will always be room for improvement.

To formally close the event, Ms. Keeshen Rivera, a Business Development Consultant in Ynzal, expressed her gratitude to the speaker and to everyone who participated in the session.
