THURSDAY, March 11 - Following the celebration of Women's Month, a webinar entitled 'Juana, Kumusta ka sa Panahon ng Pandemya?' was conducted via Kuya Prof TV's Youtube Channel.
Sir Albert Rosarda, Letran-JHS Faculty, Students Activity Coordinator, and Prefect of Discipline, hosted the said webinar via Kuya Prof TV Youtube Channel. Dra. Raidis Moreno, a guest speaker, was invited for the special episode on Our Perspective.
Mr Rosarda, a.k.a. Sir Adrasor, explained that the Basic Education Department hosts this year's celebration. The Juana Talks event is one of the various activities in celebration of Women's Month at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran - Manila.
To continue, Dra. Moreno shared her story about how she was doing during the pandemic. She said that her daily routine changed when the pandemic happened. Sir Adrasor also asked about Dra. Moreno's most challenging experience during the pandemic in which she talked about her experience about getting admitted to a hospital. She further explained that her father was positive of COVID-19, but their family managed to pull through despite those challenges since they are all together. She was thankful to the people who helped her during those times, even without asking for their help.
Afterwards, the Basic Education Department showed a video and then talked about the experiences during the pandemic. Sir Adrasor asked how Dra. Moreno, as a mother, educated her children about the pandemic. She realized how important teachers are and how important it is to belong to a good institution since it was tough to inform the kids. She then added that since everyone is at home, Dra. Moreno only gave inputs about the pandemic, but most of it was from the news or the internet.
"Choose your battle… If it is worth my time and energy, I will do my best. If hindi, at least I tried," When asked how she is coping up with stress at home and work, Dra. Moreno said, "I practice self-care… I listen to my feelings when I need to cry, mabilis lang yun. We need to understand our emotions so that we can understand others better." Other than that, Dra. Moreno claimed that as an OB-GYN, she empowers women by motivating them and reminding them not to forget to take care of themselves as most women lose time.
Furthermore, Dr Moreno shared her realizations in this pandemic about wellness in physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. "When life is at stake, you will realize what matters is yung kasabihan na health is wealth". Moreover, she said that women must build their confidence and show their true colors despite facing different challenges nowadays.
As the webinar came to an end, Sir Adrasor asked Dra. Moreno to leave some thoughts for the audience to ponder. “If you have this moment now, enjoy it and be grateful… Kasi, you never know if meron pa bang bukas,” she stated.
