MANILA, Philippines - The curtains of the STEM Week 2023 were raised with an electrifying start as the St. Thomas Grounds of Colegio De San Juan De Letran transformed into a lively Barbie and Ken wonderland for the Zumba Grooving the STEM Way on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

Early morning on this vibrant day, at the St. Thomas Grounds, the event commenced at 7 AM, with the exuberant host setting the tone by engaging the students with spirited queries about their readiness. The students responded with a display of creativity, adhering to the theme by bedecking themselves in a myriad of enchanting shades of pink, channeling the iconic Barbie and Ken duo.

The Zumba session kicked off with energizing stretches and warm-ups, masterfully orchestrated by the talented members of the Danza En Ritmo Club. From muscle stretches to a light sweat-breaking routine, Senior Squires and teachers were transported into the world of Barbie, their faces adorned with radiant smiles as they danced their hearts out.

As the rhythmic cadence of the Zumba came to an end, the excitement continued to surge. The event was generously sponsored by Big Brew, The Crunch, and Chef On A Diet, with support flowing from the heart of the STEM teaching community.

The grand culmination arrived with the announcement of the Best Groover and Best Outfit winners. These students, who grooved and dressed their way into the heart of the Barbie world, emerged as shining stars. STEM 12-B's Mr. Khiean Jhaylord Hernandez and STEM 11-A's Ms. Chloe Salas clinched the title of Best Groovers, leaving an indelible mark with their dance moves.

But the allure of Barbie and Ken was not to be outdone. The Best Dressed titles belonged to STEM 11-G's Ken, the dapper King Miki Castillo, and the quintessential Barbie, STEM 12-A's Wendy Mendoza. These students, embodying the spirit of Barbie and Ken, stood as the rightful monarchs of fashion and style in our very own Barbie world.

As the Zumba Grooving session faded into memory, STEM Week 2023 promised even more wonders, innovation, and sheer fun. The week had begun with a celebration of creativity, camaraderie, and an appreciation for the world of Barbie and Ken.
