Linkin Park has a special place in the hearts of many, dominating the music industry in the early 2000s to early 2010s. This is until the tragic passing of the band’s lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017. Since then, it has been radio silence for Linkin Park fans… until today.
Last month, a mysterious countdown was posted on Linkin Park’s website. Upon reaching zero, the band posted a cryptic message on their X account, “Be part of something. September 5th,” and what was announced shook every Linkin Park fan to their core.
The band unveiled two new members: co-vocalist Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara and a new drummer, Colin Brittain. Original members Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, Brad Delson, and Phoenix remain in the band. Along with this, the band has announced their first album since 2017 to be released on November 15 entitled, “From Zero”. Not only that but the band has also dropped a new single called “The Emptiness Machine,” which they have performed live during their surprise private show. This exclusive concert was live streamed across their multiple platforms.
Linkin Park vocalist Mike Shinoda on the new album shares: “Before Linkin Park, our first band name was Xero. This album title refers to both this humble beginning and the journey we’re currently undertaking. Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life. It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans. We are proud of what Linkin Park has become over the years, and excited about the journey ahead.”
The band, with their new members and music, is also set on a world tour to promote their new album.
