A woman with beauty, brain, character, and a true concerned citizen of our nation with a heart that is pure. These are the things that we look for in choosing our rightful Miss Universe Philippines.

Yesterday marked the coronation day of the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 candidates. A total of 28 ladies made it to the pageant's coronation night where all were determined to fight for the crown. At the end of all the levels of the competition, one lady stood out. Ms. Beatrice Luigi Gomez, a 26-year-old beauty queen who was born in Cebu City, was crowned to represent the Philippines in the upcoming Miss Universe 2021 Pageant.

Beatrice has shown an outstanding performance throughout the pageant. Other than being crowned Miss Universe Philippines, Bea also won special awards like Miss Luxxe Immunplus, Miss Cream Silk, Best in Swimsuit, and Best in Evening Gown. She was also in 6th place in the interview challenge and was the winner in introduction.

In terms of joining a pageant, this is not the first time Bea competed and won awards. She competed before in the Miss Mandaue pageant in January 2015 and placed 2nd runner-up. Last January 2020, she was crowned as the Binibining Cebu.

Bea went through a lot of obstacles in her journey joining pageants, but it did not stop her from doing her best and striving hard to accomplish and reach her goals. Outside the world of pageantry, Bea is a simple community development worker and is also a navy marines reservist. Bea is a proud cat lover and is also into different kinds of sports such as volleyball, boxing, scuba diving, and MMA.

Bea is also a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. She is currently in a seven year relationship with Kate Jagon, whose occupation is being a DJ.

According to a story on Cebu Daily News, Bea started to figure out that she was into both men and women while growing up. Beatrice, like any other member of the LGBTQ+ Community, hopes for acceptance and equal rights for their group. She wishes that all members of the LGBTQ+, especially the young ones, would be free from being bullied and discriminated against. She believes that no matter what gender, everyone has equal rights, privileges, and opportunities. As long as one does no harm to others in the society, one should be respected and not treated differently.

With the title of Miss Universe Philippines bestowed upon her, Miss Beatrice Luigi Gomez is now challenged to strive and work harder not just for her city, but for her country in the approaching Miss Universe 2021 to be held in December in Israel.

It may be intimidating to try even for a lady with such great capabilities and talents, but with Miss Beatrice's fighting spirit and determination, she is willing to accept and embrace the challenge and will do everything within her power to take home the title of Miss Universe 2021.
