About Me



My name is Paige Rogers and I am currently a high school math teacher at McKinney Boyd High School in McKinney, Texas. I am about to begin my fifth year of teaching and I've also just begun my Master's in Educational Technology - Library Science at Texas A&M Commerce. I am so excited to reach my professional dream of becoming a Media Resource Specialist!

A bit about me...

I started my teaching career at age sixteen by teaching piano from my home. I graduated high school in Gilbert, Arizona with a 4.0 GPA and attended Arizona State University on a full-ride academic scholarship. At ASU I majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with emphases in mathematics and education. I made the Dean's List each semester of my undergraduate degree and graduated summa cum laude with a 3.87 GPA.

One month after my college graduation I had my first child. During the next five years I stayed home with what would end up being three children while teaching piano lessons.

After the birth of my third child I decided to get certified to teach. I went through an alternative certification program and got my first job teaching one year later in Garland, Texas.

The rest is history!


Professional Experience

I taught at South Garland High School for two years. During my time at South I taught Algebra II, Algebra II PreAP, and also taught students in credit recovery where they were taking courses ranging from Algebra I to Pre-Calculus. In February of my second year I was honored to be named Teacher of the Month!

After leaving South Garland I was hired in McKinney ISD at McKinney Boyd High School. This job had some fantastic personal benefits including on-site preschool for my three year old and it also cut my commute in half.

At McKinney Boyd High School I have taught Algebra I (academic and inclusion) and PreAP Geometry. Next year I will keep my Algebra classes, but I'll also be teaching a new class to Boyd called Advanced Quantitative Reasoning. I have worked for two years writing curriculum on the district team for both Geometry and Algebra and will be beginning my second year as team lead. My proudest accomplishment at Boyd is the eight percentage point gain in the number of students who passed STAAR that my school's students achieved this year! Ninety-three percent (including SPED, ESL, and Newcomer ESL) passed their Algebra I EOC! The highest in our school's history!
