This "all about me" section will be difficult. I don't like talking about myself! Awards don't mean a lot to me, but I did include a couple in the personal artifacts below. My family is the most important part of my life, followed by my friends and former/current students. This is my 16th year teaching and all of those years have been at Conrad High School in Dallas. Prior to that I worked mostly in the electronics industry, which included telecommunications, aerospace, and missile systems. I also have some experience working in the medical field, and additionally did a stint as a machinist.
Most of my grandchildren live just East of Houston. Because they are not close by, my favorite pastime is caring for the animals we have on our small farm. I manage to turn all of our animals into pets! Even my full size bull will eat out of your hand. We also have Nigerian Dwarf goats, miniature donkeys, and miniature pot bellied pigs. In this section you will find pictures of my family and pets.
The artifacts in this section depict my career and educational journey, which is lengthy. I have 5 TEA teaching certifications at present, and until Covid hit I had planned on taking a 6th test in Computer Science. Due to my graduate courses, I have decided to postpone that exam until after I graduate in May. You will see from my resume that I have held several interesting positions throughout my life. My educational journey took longer than I anticipated due to raising my family first before returning to college. It has been difficult being an older student, but my age has made me appreciate the accomplishments even more.
Working on the about me section of this portfolio has made me realize how far I have come & how much God has blessed me with. It has been a long journey to complete this Master's Degree program and I feel so blessed to know that I have made it to the end.
