We have been learning...

English - Year 3: This week we have been writing ‘poems of address’ based on our book ‘Volcano Wakes Up’.

Year 4: This week we focused on figurative language and wrote a setting description of the island in the book.

Maths - Year 3: We have been continuing to look at length. We have been converting measurements and answering worded problems involving length.

Year 4: We have been adding fractions and have recapped finding equivalent fractions and simplifying fractions.

Science - We looked at the properties of different rocks and sorted them using a classification key.

Our Community Project - Leopards looked at the life and work of Warrick Davis, Lions found out all about Tom Felton and Tigers learned about David Walliams, all of whom were born in Epsom. We created fact files about each of them and produced some fantastic work for the project display in the hall.

PSHE - Children’s Mental Health Week - We learned a little bit of Makaton, thought about our aspirations for the future and recorded this on Flipgrid, created some artwork which promotes hope and happiness and took part in physical activities to make ourselves feel great.
