Nursery has had another busy few weeks as they prepare for the last few days before the summer holidays!
In Phonics, we have been looking at the sounds 'ng' and 'nk' and learning about words that contain these sounds, such as 'ring' and 'pink'. In Maths, we have been using 2D shapes to make pictures.
Our focus books for the past two weeks have been 'The Train Ride' by June Crebbin and 'When I Grow Up' by Tim Minchin.
We really enjoyed reading 'The Train Ride' story when we had our own picnic during our very own train ride to the seaside last Friday. The children also enjoyed splashing in the paddling pool, finding the sea animals in the ball pool, chasing after bubbles, dancing to music and having an ice pop treat after fruit time!
As the children continue with their transition to Reception they have been thinking about what they would like to be when they grow up. The children also had a great time looking at baby photos and guessing which baby photo belonged to which child (or member of staff)! We have enjoyed several visits to Reception to visit their playgrounds and to see some of the staff and classrooms.
Releasing the butterflies was another highlight as some of the children got to see our 5 butterflies fly off to start their lives in the big, wide world. We had a great time waving them off and wishing them well!
This year all of the children in Nursery have done so much learning and are ready for all of the new experiences that Reception will bring them! We wish them all the very best on their new journeys and the adventures that lie ahead!
