Due to the ongoing national lockdown and the restrictions that are in place across the country, this is a different GCSE options process to that which we had originally planned.

Nonetheless, we are confident that your child will feel extremely well supported during this important important phase in their educational journey.

• An options booklet, containing an overview of both both compulsory and elective subjects;

• Video recordings from subject leaders, providing an overview of the knowledge and skills content required of each specification, alongside assessment information, and the future career pathways that align with these;

• A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page, containing our responses to questions we’ve received from parents and carers regarding the Options process at Leigh Academy Blackheath (please do go to the FAQ’s page on this website to submit a question you would like answered).

In addition to the above, please feel reassured that throughout this period, school and subject leaders, as well as year 9 tutors, will be available to answer any questions your child may have regarding the Options process.
