What is STEAM?

Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math are the disciplines that are explored in STEAM designed lessons and integrated into all subject areas here at LAMS. 21st-century jobs require creative confidence, critical thinking, and collaboration. Children need 21st-century learning opportunities that are no different. When the arts are part of STEM, STEM can come to life and spark connections for many more students to engage creatively, critically, and confidently in their learning. (Forbes, 2019)

As a recipient of the Magnet School Assistance Program grant, Lehigh Acres Middle School is devoting the time and using the tools that are proven to fuel young minds. We provide at least ten hours per week of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics education for every student across the school in both core classes and special electives, which include: Engineering, FUSE Studio, Flight Simulation, Robotics, Coding, Video Game Design, Computer Science, Culinary Arts, Photography and Design, Dance, Art, Theater, and Band.
