Suzy Gallagher, Principal of Quarry Hill Campus, talks about what it means to be a member of our family.
1: Wear your ID badge & lanyard
2: Open doors for each other
3: If you are late say sorry - someone will check in with you to make sure everything is OK
4: Those who work at QH will introduce themselves if they need to speak with you
5: Be an upstander - if you hear or see something that isn’t OK, do something about it
College staff wear black lanyards with the word STAFF in white letters. This means they are fully trained to support you if you have any concerns. Our specialist Safeguarding Officers wear purple. Students wear either green (School of Social Sciences) or orange (School of Creative Arts) lanyards. Temporary staff, student teachers and visitors wear white lanyards with a temporary printed badge hanging from it. Finally our HE students wear blue.
This is a really safe campus and everyone wearing their lanyard is one of the ways we ensure it remains so. Staff and students can, at a glance, see that the people around them are meant to be there. We are proud of being part of Quarry Hill and our lanyard shows that. If you forget your badge you have to report to reception for a temporary identity band.
Your first port of call for almost any questions. If they don't know the answer they will find out who does. If you forget your badge it is this team you need to go and see at the reception desks in each foyer.
Keeping our campus safe and bringing the positive energy is our Security Team. Prince (in the jacket), Matthew (big smile) and Abena (didn't want her photo taking) are the regular faces that will greet you onto campus each day.
