Hi there! I am Carrie Womack, the Career Development Coordinator and Special Populations Coordinator at Southern Lee High School. I am a Lee County native and graduated from Lee County Senior High. I obtained my undergraduate degree from NC State University with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture Science, Masters Degree from NC A&T University and I am a National Board Certified Teacher. Prior to becoming the CDC/SPC at Southern I taught Agriculture Education and was a FFA Advisor for 17 years.
I thoroughly enjoyed the classroom setting but felt that I could make a greater impact in the lives of our students by helping them prepare for life after high school through career development. I work collaboratively with administrators, students services personnel, teachers, parents, business/industry, post-secondary institutions, military, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the delivery of career development services for students. Whether in one-on-one counseling with a student needing help with creating a resume and sharpening interview skills or putting together a career fair, the CDC works both publically and behind the scenes to help students secure a bright future after high school in the endeavor of their choice.... employment, enlistment or further education or training.
