Classroom Procedures
A classroom procedure is how we do something in our classroom. For example, we have a procedure for how students ask to use the bathroom! There is an important difference between classroom rules and classroom procedures: rules explain how we behave, while procedures explain how we do things in the classroom.
Following classroom procedures helps our classroom run smoothly, keeps everyone safe and organized, and provides students with the structure they need to learn and succeed. When students know what to expect and understand how things work in the classroom, they are more likely to feel confident and thrive.
Here are some of the classroom procedures your child will learn from the moment they step into our classroom:
What to do when entering the classroom
How to turn in homework
How to ask to use the bathroom
What to do when finished with an assignment
How to get and use classroom materials
What to do during dismissal
How to transition between activities
