Expectations

  • The most important expectation is to BE KIND (both to others and yourself)

  • Come to class prepared

  • Enter the classroom, sit down, and begin your warm-up

  • Listen and follow directions especially during labs

  • Listen to what others have to say and if you have a different answer follow the guidelines below for ways to politely disagree

  • Be respectful of others, learning, property, school, and instructional time

  • Abide by science safety rules

  • Only use cell phones when I give permission. If they are in use when they are not supposed to be there will be 1 warning. The second time the phone will be confiscated

  • Be actively engaged in the classroom activity

  • Listen when others are speaking

  • Ask for help when you need it. Do not wait until you are overwhelmed.

HOW TO POLITELY DISAGREE

EXAMPLES:

"That's a good idea. Another idea is..."

"I do not agree but maybe..."

"Has anyone thought about..."

"I have a different opinion. I think..."

"Let's look at it from this point of view..."
