Expectations
The most important expectation is to BE KIND (both to others and yourself)
Come to class prepared
Enter the classroom, sit down, and begin your warm-up
Listen and follow directions especially during labs
Listen to what others have to say and if you have a different answer follow the guidelines below for ways to politely disagree
Be respectful of others, learning, property, school, and instructional time
Abide by science safety rules
Only use cell phones when I give permission. If they are in use when they are not supposed to be there will be 1 warning. The second time the phone will be confiscated
Be actively engaged in the classroom activity
Listen when others are speaking
Ask for help when you need it. Do not wait until you are overwhelmed.
HOW TO POLITELY DISAGREE
EXAMPLES:
"That's a good idea. Another idea is..."
"I do not agree but maybe..."
"Has anyone thought about..."
"I have a different opinion. I think..."
"Let's look at it from this point of view..."
