Our School Counselors meet with students for a variety of different needs. We utilize the Brief Solution Focused approach to individual counseling.
We become aware of student needs through referrals.
A student may refer themselves by telling their teacher or staff member at school.
A teacher or staff member may refer the student.
A parent may refer their child.
The school counselors are available to assist students with the following:
Identifying and coping with feelings (stress, worry, anger, etc.)
Solving friendship problems
Goal setting
Working well with others
Feeling good about oneself
Adjusting to a new school
Learning how to make decisions
*Please note school counselors do not provide therapy.
