Get Organized!

Keep a binder or a folder in safe place to store your:

• Post Secondary goals, ideas and research you have done about programs.

• Student numbers (once you apply) and passwords for accounts

• Reference letters or letters of achievement from coaches  (If you don't have references, it's a good idea to start collecting general references.  If you need specific references for applications, be sure to give your writer plenty of notice.  More on this in helpful docs!) 

• Certificates or proof of credentials (first aid or LIT for example)

• Awards 

Volunteer

• Grade 10-12 students interested in applying for university and/or scholarships can seek volunteer positions in the community and at school

  • If you can volunteer in an area you would like to pursue further, that can be helpful!

  • Try Volunteer Nanaimo

  • Look in to opportunities with the Vancouver Island Health Authority - Step Up program

  • Rotary 

  • Student Leadership
