Taking Action
When you signed up for this Network, we asked you to think about and share your relationship with the land.
Take a look at the thoughts that some of the members of our Nature Network shared.
Do any of their relationships with the land connect with you? Did anything spark your thinking?
Click on the diagonal arrow to open the google doc. Go to the bottom of the document and add your connections to the section "Our Responses To Each Other."
Why are we here? Please think about these questions:
Who are you and why you are here?
Wherever you are with your journey, share what you have been doing with your students on the land. What is feeling exciting to you?
How do we want to be together? Please add your thinking to our google doc.
Look at the agreements in the document below and think about what is missing, what you would change... please add your thoughts to the google doc below (click the diagonal arrow to edit the doc).
Huge thanks to Ashley Lane and Jenni Rubuliak for being brave and sharing their stories with us!
What did you learn from Ashley's and/or Jenni's story. What did you connect to? What brought you joy? What surprised you? What challenged you? What questions do you have?
Let's share our gratitude with Ashley & the Golden Spirit Wolves and Jenni & the Dragonflies.
Please add your thoughts to the google doc below (click on the diagonal arrow to edit the doc).
When will we be coming together over zoom? What happens in-between those meetings?
Who do you want to connect with on a more personal basis throughout this learning journey?
Choose a core text that inspires you from the interactive bookshelf on the resource page.
We are considering offering optional meet-ups on the land so we can connect in person and test out some of our ideas together.
Click here to see the actual dates we are considering for our zoom sessions.
Please add your vote to the poll below to help us determine what days work best.
We will be meeting every two weeks and are hoping that these learning sessions will be a part of a cycle that includes learning, trying, and reflecting together as we inspire each other to grow.
During the time in-between our sessions we are inviting you to either:
Try things on your own with your students.
Connect with others in nature teams so you have buddies to learn, try, and reflect together.
This might include release time to get together to co-plan, co-teach, and co-reflect. This option might also include on-site support with members of the ILT.
Would you like to join with others from our Nature Network to form smaller nature teams?
These teams can be connected to each other and supported by us to co-plan and co-learn, to visit each other's classrooms, to reflect and plan next steps, to connect on the land, etc...
There are so many possibilities!
If you are already connected to others, or want to be connected to others in a nature team, please let us know by filling out this jamboard (or click the image of the jamboard below).
Take some time to explore the interactive bookshelves below (you can also find them on the resource page). Which resource is most intriguing to you? What will be most helpful to you and your students? Please fill out the name of the resource that you would like in the form below (click the diagonal arrow to open the form).
Before we come together next time, it would be ideal if you explored the resources, and even better if you took your students onto the land to try at least one idea.
Go to www.menti.com and use the code 3092 6454. Tell us what your land based learning intention is for the next two weeks.
Select your resource from one of the additional bookshelves (Additional Resources and Only for the Curious) that we have created to house the resources that we really like and have curated for our Nature Network.
Please note: You can also find these bookshelves on the resource page of this website.
