Getting to know how an individual learns is an important part in being able to support them in the best way possible. One survey to identify how a student learns is to use a Multiple Intelligence Survey.

I am a strong mathematical and kinestetic learner. I prefer to do things myself and see the logic in what I am doing. I am a weak existential learner and this does not guide my learning. This has made me aware that I avoid some areas both in personal, educational and social areas. These are areas that I need to focus on developing more and having an open mind with.
