Although you will be working in groups for Performance Task #1, the first assessed piece is an Individual Research Report (IRR). This component comprises 50% of the total 20% for Performance Task #1.
The IRR will need to be 1200 words in length.
In this project, you will collaborate with two - four other students to identify a problem or issue. From this problem or issue your group will develop a research question on which you will conduct preliminary research. You will identify approaches, perspectives, or lenses and divide responsibilities among the group for individual research that will ultimately address the previously chosen research question.
Individually, you will investigate your assigned approach, perspective, or lens on the issue or topic of your team research question. You will then present your findings to your group in a well-written individual report that:
identifies the are of investigation and its relationship to the overall problem or issue
summarizes, explains, analyzes, and evaluates the main ideas and reasoning in the chosen sources
identifies, compares, and interprets a range of perspectives about the problem or issue
cites all sources used and includes a list of works cited
NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A PERSUASIVE ESSAY; IT IS A RESEARCH REPORT
