COVID has made running maker challenges more... well... challenging. However, we are happy to be able to incorporate fun and safe in-class maker activities to stimulate the creativity and innovation of our students. Check out some of our more recent events.
In December 2020, we held our first maker challenge since COVID: the Christmas Tree Cup Challenge! The object of the exercise was to create the tallest Christmas tree out of plastic, paper, and Styrofoam cups, all while demonstrating teamwork. Teams wore masks and used sanitised cups. There were prizes for the tallest tree and the team that exhibited the best teamwork. Needless to say, we had some great engineers! Good job, students!
