This is a training for teachers willing to take the prodigy information back to your site and teach your teachers. You will be expected to lead an hour Professional Learning Session for your colleagues. You will receive two hours towards your professional learning hours. 6-12 Supporting the Social and Emotional Needs of Today’s Teens -- WED 4/3/19, UNIV MPR; 3:30-4:30 presented by BreakThrough counselors

In conjunction with National Teen Health Week, we will be addressing teen mental health. As we all know, the social/emotional needs are growing for so many of our students. Whether students are dealing with trauma, stress, anxiety, or depression (to name a few), they are a part of our classroom reality. Join our BreakThrough* counselors for a session that will provide practical suggestions for addressing students mental health needs within a school setting.

*Breakthrough is a District program that offers confidential services and supports academic and personal achievement for CVUSD students and their families.

JUST ADDED K-12 SPED SIRAS training and collaboration MON 4/8/19, University Rm #14, 3:30-5:00 presented by Dawn Thomas

Special Education Teachers will work in collaborative PLCs to answer common, but crucial, IEP questions. Teams will work to ensure proper IEP writing procedures through exploring the SIRAS training software and videos as well through direct instruction on frequently asked questions and most common misconceptions. Language acquisition, anxiety, stress and self-consciousness can become major roadblocks for English Learners. These can create challenges when trying to focus on instruction.
