As a parent of THREE teens myself, I understand the challenge in remaining connected amidst the "busyness" of life. Some of the ways that you can support your son/daughter are suggested below:
- have regular conversations with your student about what we are doing/studying in class.
- look over your son’s/daughter’s homework and see if you can help :).
- check online regularly for grade updates and/or set notifications for their GOAL grade, not just a passing grade.
- regularly check my teacher website or Google classroom if you want to see what we are doing (ask your student to invite you to receive a weekly summary).
- have a conversation with your son/daughter about and grades/issues prior to emailing or calling me as they know their situation best.
- coach him/her on the importance of using an agenda EACH DAY. Knowing what is due when and getting in on time is 80% of the challenge!
I truly believe that this will be an amazing year for your son/daughter and I am extremely happy to be partnering with you on their education!
If you have any questions, comments and/or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Open and honest communication is the key to educational success!
