Course Planning FAQ
How do I access my schedule and grades?
Home Access Center (HAC) is the system our district uses for parents and students to check grades and attendance. You can view Report Cards, Progress Reports, Current Schedule (including teacher name & building/classroom number), and Next Year Course Requests/Schedule (when available).
What is AVID and how do I get accepted?
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a college readiness system that provides academic support preparing students for college eligibility and success. Students may enter either 9th or 10th grade. Students interested in AVID should contact their counselor to request the required interest form.
How can I learn more about Dual Credit classes?
ACC Dual Credit are classes that students can take through ACC in conjunction with Vista Ridge in order to potentially earn both high school credit and college credit. The ACC Dual Credit page on the VRHS College and Career Readiness website has information about what classes you can take, what high school credits they earn, and Enrollment Steps.
Do you have any resources for planning for after high school?
VRHS College and Career Center website has a wide variety of Post-Secondary planning tools like Information about ACC Dual Credit, College Application process, SAT/ACT and TSI college entrance exams, Financial Aid planning, Work / Internship / Volunteering, and Career Planning Resources. Counselors meet with students each year to review 4 year plans, discuss postsecondary planning, and choose next year courses.
What is Naviance?
Naviance is a comprehensive website that Leander ISD high school students can use to explore colleges, careers, and scholarship opportunities, as well as view class rank, GPA, Test Scores, and much more. Students who need access to their Naviance account should contact their counselor for their registration code.
Can I get my PE credit through my after-school athletic activity?
Off Campus PE allows students in grades 9-12 to apply to complete their PE credits through outside activities and they may be awarded up to four high school credits. For complete information regarding OCPE including a list of approved vendors, please reference the link above. Applications must be submitted by the last day of the school year for the following school year.
