Campbell Duncan, Director

Mr. Duncan is in his fifth year as Theatre Director at LHS, and has been teaching for 20+ years. Originally from way out in the oil patches of Midland, Texas, he attended Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelors of Arts in English and Secondary Education. He also holds an Associates of General Sciences from Midland College.

While at Tech, Mr. Duncan served as an officer in Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honors Society, and coordinated events with local adult literacy programs in the Lubbock community.

Prior to working for Leander ISD, Mr. Duncan worked with Midland ISD (Special Education, K-3; Speech and Theatre, 9-12), Elgin ISD (English, 6; Film Studies, 6-8, and Theatre Arts, 6-8), and Dripping Springs ISD (Theatre Arts, 9-12).

Mr. Duncan is excited about being able to create a space for students where they can belong, thrive, and invest in their own futures. Additionally, he is excited about continuing to move Leander Theatre forward, creating new memories, new work, and new relationships with students, staff, parents, and the greater Leander community.

Kiersta Hoover, Tech Director

Miss Hoover has been at Leander for the past three years. She graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing. After working for several years in Social Media Strategy and Management, she went back to school and earned an Associates of Applied Sciences in Technical Theatre, with a specialization in Costuming Technology and Makeup Artistry, from Austin Community College.

Miss Hoover has been doing theatre for about twenty years in various capacities, both onstage and off, and has worked with a number of theatre companies in the greater Austin area, including Penfold Theatre Co., ZACH Theatre, ACC Drama, Sam Bass Community Theatre, the Heller Awards for Young Artists, and more.

She is excited to see what all the program can accomplish together!
