RBMS Dance Classes

PE is required for all 6th and 7th graders. Dance 1 fulfills PE credit.

6th graders have the following options:

#1 - Dance 1 for a half year and PE for a half year

*This class is ideal for students who have no dance experience or very little dance knowledge. It is intended to introduce students to the art of dance and multiple dance styles are learned during the semester.

#2 - Dance 1 full year

*This class is ideal for students who currently dance, have several years of dance experience, or who plan to join the dance team or take Dance 2 as a 7th grader.

This class is NOT intended for students interested in cheerleading, athletics or simply who do not want to take PE.

Dress Out Options

Choose ANY one option below for class:

Dance Department Tank or Tee and any Bottoms (Required for full year classes / Optional for semester)

PE Uniform (semester only)

Comfortable clothes you can move in; workout type clothing; Dance Clothing - 1 outfit worn consistently (semester only)

(ABSOLUTELY NO JEANS/DENIM/CARGO ALLOWED!)

*Dance Dept. Tanks Or T-shirts are $15. Cash or Check payable to Silver Stars Booster Club.

Shoe Options

Barefeet or socks are acceptable
Jazz or ballet shoes are preferred but are not required

Again, you are not required to purchase dance shoes.

Daily Class Supplies

Students must be PREPARED with ALL listed supplies daily.

Grading Policy

Daily Grade (Dress Out & Participation) = 50%
Technique/Performance Assessments = 20%
Written Tests / Projects = 20%
Assignments = 10%
