How-to Connect to LISD-WiFi

Resetting Passwords:

Teachers can now reset passwords for students, a lot of times this must happen first before connecting to WiFi. Teachers, please see "Student Password Reset Instructions - Staff" for more information. There is also information below on how students can reset their own passwords.

Students: Please follow the instructions below to reset your password yourself. ALL students currently using their birthday as their password (this is the default) will need to to change their password to a new password that’s (12) or more characters long.

Middle School Students + BYOD Students (Those with personal devices): Sign into http://passwords.leanderisd.org/ using the first (8) characters of lastame_studentID as the username and follow the prompts. Default password is birthday in the following format YYYYMMDD.
Windows District Laptops (HS and Staff): Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and "Change a Password". Enter in your current password in the 2nd box, in the 3rd and 4th box enter in the password you would like it to be.
- Restart and sign in with the new password, otherwise the Wi-Fi may bump the student off after 10 minutes.

Personal Device (Referred to as BYOD - Bring Your Own Device) WiFi Settings

Windows Devices

Click on the Wireless icon in the bottom right of the task bar
Select LISD WiFi (NOT LISD-Guest)
Username: First 8 characters of their Lastname_ID#
Password: Password is the same as Google. If that isn't working, try the default password of their birthday in the following format YYYYMMDD

If that doesn't work, please follow the password reset instructions above and try again.

Apple/IOS Devices

Same as the Windows devices above, except they click the wireless icon in the top right corner of the screen
After typing in their Username/Password they need to click Trust on the box that pops up and they should be connected after that

Chromebooks (These also the same settings for Android phones, FYI)

FORGET any connection already to LISD-Wifi or LISD-Guest so we can start from scratch. LISD-Guest is only for parents or other visitors to the school
Connect to LISD-WiFi with the settings below
EAP Method: PEAP
Phase 2 Authentication: MSCHAPv2
Server CA Certificate: Do not check
User Certificate: None
Identity: Username (first 8 characters of LastName_ID)
Password: Password is the same as Google. If that isn't working, try the default password of their birthday in the following format YYYYMMDD
Anonymous Identity: Leave blank
Sometimes it still says "Error connecting" after doing the above settings. Shut down the laptop, turn it back on and click on LISD-Wifi again and it should connect. If not, please submit a help ticket.
