Making meaning of content using the disciplinary skills of Social Studies allows students to begin to make connections and deepen their understanding beyond just learning the facts. Below are some of the fundamental components for bringing this to life in the Social Studies classroom. You will find short introductory learning and longer, more comprehensive learning on each of the topics. In addition, many of these are available to have in person professional learning sessions with the LISD Social Studies' staff.
