This is an introductory dance class. It is an interactive and engaging class that explores a wide range of dance styles and genres at a beginner level. This class is designed for students to learn, move, and gain skills that extend beyond the walls of the classroom. We have unit tests & skills test with each unit. This course gives students 1 PE credit & 1 Fine Arts credit. See the Course Curriculum Overview and the Syllabus linked below.
Performances: Dance classes perform in the holiday show and spring show.
*there is a wide range of level/ability in this class. We tailor/modify technique combinations & dance combinations to accommodate every level of dancer in the class.

All Black Form Fitting Dance Clothing
Examples: Leotard, form fitting tank top, black leggings
Non Examples: What you wore to school, T-shirt, sweatpants, joggers
Tan jazz shoes, ballet shoes, or tennis shoes
Leander ISD Lenovo laptop or personal laptop and headphones with mic
Hair ties if hair is long enough to get in eyes.

Builds upon Dance 1. This course is unique as it teaches the building blocks of composition, explores dance composition/choreography, world dance, hip hop, production & performance.
