Social Skills Learning through Second Step

Social Skills Learning is recognized as a key ingredient for school and life success. To meet the social skills needs of our students and to teach specific social skills, Leander ISD utilizes the Second Step curriculum.

Second Step increases students' capacity to learn, while decreasing behaviors impacting learning.

Each Second Step grade level curriculum is comprised of four units:

1. Skills for Learning

2. Empathy

3. Emotional Management

4. Problem Solving
