Student Travel

Approved Trip List 

The following are approved trips for student groups. This list is evaluated annually by the appropriate curriculum directors, and consists of UIL-sponsored trips and those that are necessary to fulfill the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Any overnight travel or events and/or destinations not on this list must be approved using the Leander ISD Student Travel Guidelines. 

Band, Choir, Theatre Arts 

• All auditions and performances associated with the TMEA All-State process. This includes:  District Auditions  Region Auditions  Pre-Area Auditions  Area Auditions  Pre-Region Clinic  Region Clinic/Concert  All-State Clinic/Concerts 

• All UIL competitions. This includes:

• UIL Solo & Ensemble contest 

• UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Evaluations

• Texas State Solo & Ensemble contest

• UIL Marching Contest

• UIL One-Act Play Competition 

• All LISD sporting events at which the group is performing. This includes:  Football games  Basketball games  Volleyball games 

• One yearly in-state performance centered trip that falls within the guidelines set out in the LISD Travel Guidelines and Procedures 

• Overnight retreats that are curriculum based. This includes:  UIL clinics,  Performance preparation  Leadership camps  Ropes course activities 

• One Pre-UIL competition in preparation for UIL

• Community service performance trips that occur outside the school day (example: nursing homes, community events, etc.)

Dance 

(One of the following):  Marching Auxiliaries,  American Dance,  Crowd Pleasers Dance, and Encore Performing Arts
