Must memorize and perform a monologue during an in-person audition.
Students can pick any monologue from any published play, as long as it's school appropriate and 1-2 minutes long when performed.
Here are some optional monologues for students.
Students may choose any comedic or dramatic monologue from a published play. The monologue should not exceed 1 ½ minutes.
During the callback, the invited actors will be asked to perform cold reads from the script of the upcoming play.
Must memorize and perform a song selection provided by Ms. Ashton on the falcon theatre website, from the chosen upcoming musical's score.

Monologue: A monologue, in literature and drama, an extended speech by one person. It is a speech given by a single character in a story. Monologues give the audience and other characters access to what a particular character is thinking
Audition: A performance demonstrating skill aimed at landing the auditionee a role in a given production.
Callback: An invitation to return to a second audition.
Cold Read: Theatrical cold reading is reading aloud from a script or other text with little or no rehearsal.
Musical Score: The full composition of music from a musical.
Musical Libretto: The lines, or dialogue, from the musical. Including the lyrics for the songs.
Memorize and rehearse your monologue as if your character is talking to someone. Ask yourself "who am I playing?" what is this speech about?" "who is my character talking to?" and "what is my character's relationship to this person?" If you don't know... make a creative and exciting choise!
Make sure to look slightly up when you are performing your monologue, above the director's head. Imagine that person your character is talking to is right on the wall in front of you.
