Fall 2026 UIL One Act Play Auditions! COMING IN AUGUST! 

Auditions for the Fall 2026 UIL One Act Play will take place Wednesday August 19th and Thursday August 20th, with callbacks on Friday August 21st. The cast list will be posted Saturday August 22nd, and rehearsals will begin August 25th.  

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) One-Act Play contest is the world’s largest school theater competition, where Texas schools present a 40 minute play in a single day. Middle schools in LISD compete through two levels—Zone and District, with judges awarding top productions and individual acting and technician honors.

To audition for the UIL One Act Play, students will need to submit an audition form (coming soon), and prepare to perform a memorized 1 minute monologue. Need help? Click here!  Students wishing to be a part of tech crew only need to apply (form coming soon), and no audition is required. To stay academically elligable to compete all students must have passing grades throughout the show process.
