Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation (AIR) provides advocacy and inclusion support for individuals with disabilities to enjoy recreation activities as well as specialist therapeutic programs. Opportunities for youth, teens, and adults to acquire skills that enable them to participate in leisure experiences and enhance their involvement in community programs.
Our professional instructors help students to find a means to best express themselves, promoting client-directed goals, self-determination, social skills, and gaining a sense of independence and pride! We daily bridge the gap of post-secondary education support for the I/DD community and their families.
Art Spark Texas challenges perceptions of how people contribute by creating an arts-inspired, inclusive community of individuals with diverse abilities. Our goal is to provide support and training to the public, enhance personal growth, and offer Texans access to the creative work of people with diverse abilities.

Austin Parks and Recreation is proud to offer Therapeutic Recreation Services to provide safe, accessible, fun and supportive recreation environments for all persons no matter their abilities. PARD’s Therapeutic Recreation Services include both adaptive and inclusive programs which are facilitated and supported by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
Beloved and Beyond exists to spread the hope and love of Jesus Christ with people who have differing abilities through camps, socialization, and on the job training while growing the community to embrace the same. We offer all-accessible summer camp programming for children and adults with disabilities (ages 7-55+) who get to enjoy camp alongside their one-on-one buddy, our amazing trained summer staff, and our equipped clinic team.
Bright Sky Connections provides one-on-one and/or group social skills training, emotional/behavioral support, and mentorship connections to facilitate growth towards our students gaining social communication skills, social skill nuances/strategies, self-regulation control, social/emotional confidence, and improving relationships with peers.
Located in Brenham, Camp Blessing makes an iconic experience–summer camp–available to campers whose challenges prevent their participation elsewhere. We are a residential Christian summer camp offering love, acceptance, and fun for children with special needs all through adulthood. We believe that our campers, regardless of ability level or age, should have all of the fun summer camp has to offer.
Providing a residential camping experience for people with disabilities since 1947. Camp Summit is a one-of-a-kind camp for individuals with disabilities where the emphasis is on each camper's abilities rather than their disabilities. Traditional camp activities are adapted to each individual, provided in our barrier-free facilities, and implemented by trained, caring staff. Our campers are grouped by age, providing the opportunity to make friends within peer groups while having fun and experiencing new adventures.
Charis Hills is a Christian special needs, recreational summer camp helping children with learning differences build confidence and find success. We serve campers ages 7-18, with ADHD, Learning Disabilities, and high-functioning Autism. Camp is a great place to teach social skills. We offer 7, week-long, summer sessions as well as Spring Family Weekend Camp.
Round Rock Transit partners with Capital Metro to provide transit services in Round Rock. The City also provides ADA Paratransit services for those individuals whose disability prevents them from using the regular fixed route, for origin and destinations within the service area.
The Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department offers the following events focusing on active participation for children and adults with various disabilities or limitations. We strive to create equal access to recreation, to help enhance an individual’s quality of life.

Easterseals' Greenleaf Neurodiversity Community Center creates new opportunities for adults with autism and related neurodivergent conditions, so they can reach their potential in the community, in the workplace, and in life. Greenleaf NCC currently offers Social Creativity social and recreational clubs, job skills training programs, and an 18+ transition school in partnership with Austin ISD.
Friends Shine Online is a happy, positive, online community for participants with disabilities 18 years of age and older. We offer 3-hour interactive sessions on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, for 5-15 participants. g3 Games is a nonprofit founded in 2022 to foster social connections and strengthen communities through the shared experience of playing board games and other gatherings. Our goal is to bring people together and create spaces where everyone can engage and collaborate.
The Georgetown Palace Theatre is a non-profit organization. We celebrate the power of storytelling and our shared human experience with a commitment to artistic excellence, quality education, and community engagement. We believe in theatre for all, and we offer both low-cost adaptive performance classes and free sensory-friendly performances of some of our shows.
Greenleaf is a hub for people with autism and other neurodivergent conditions to develop friendships, social skills, workplace readiness, and a sense of belonging so they reach their full potential. Greenleaf operates a comprehensive, public school transition program in partnership with Austin ISD for students ages 18-22 and provides a variety of social, recreational, and vocational training programs and services for adults of all ages.
Hearts Therapeutic Riding provides therapeutic riding for anyone with special needs. Therapeutic riding is known to provide cognitive, physical, and emotional benefits. Only a few of the results can be an increase in self-esteem, confidence, problem-solving, attention span, learning a sequence of tasks, responsibility, and decreased anxiety. Member of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, practicing safety standards to provide our riders with a safe and pleasant experience. Our center is close to 1431 near Cedar Park and offers two riding arenas, a riding trail, and opportunities for riding off of our property.
Joshua's Stage is an enrichment program for individuals with special needs featuring Theater Arts & More! Programs, camps, and Individual Enrichment Programs, including activities such as improv, theater arts, arts and crafts, music, dance, create-a-story, and showcase. Participants have the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, increase their self-confidence, and build their social skills in a warm and welcoming environment.
Our Community-Based Day Program provides activities for adults with developmental disabilities that build upon their unique strengths and talents. Participants engage with our Community Coaches who assist in developing individualized skills and socialization that result in joyful, life-long memories and relationships created in their local community.
Leander ISD Special Programs Parent Advisory Council (LISD SPPAC)
The Special Programs Parent Advisory Council (SPPAC) partners to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. SPPAC members provide feedback, collaborate on resources, and foster connections between families, schools, and the community.
We provide a place for any child/young adult with special needs to play baseball; they play with their peers on a specially constructed field where there are no obstacles. They are able to stay safe and play to the best of their ability.
Introduction to Equine Assisted Therapy, inviting students to interact closely with horses through a range of equine-based activities, including learning about horse behavior, grooming, and care. The ability to ride these magnificent animals gives tremendous physical and psychological benefits to those previously denied the usual scope of outdoor activities.
Peaceable Kingdom-Variety of Texas
Peaceable Kingdom by Variety (PK), our accessible retreat in Killeen, TX, is a beloved haven for thousands of children exploring their self-reliance and mobility each year. Because healing, growth and insight can be found in nature and outdoor adventure, we’ve tailored PK's gorgeous 122-acres to accommodate all campers’ and Central Texas students' needs. At PK, children make new friends, learn new things and make new memories they carry with them forever.
ROCK, Ride On Center for Kids, is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides equine-assisted activities and therapies to children, adults, and veterans with physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Located in Kerrville, Texas Lions Camp provides camping experiences for children with special medical needs at no cost to the parent(s). Due to COVID, TLC is offering one- and two-night stays for families of a special medical needs child. Sessions begin June 7 and continue through July 31. The June dates are for families with a child with physical needs, and the July dates are for families with a Type 1 diabetic child. Family camp includes parents and siblings. TSC Austin is a membership-based club providing individuals with special needs/disabilities a safe and inclusive space to explore their sensory health needs through an open gym and multi-sensory environment room. The club is exclusively for special needs community and their families, open in Cedar Park since Dec 2024.
University of Texas at Austin - EMPOWER Study
The EMPOWER Study at the Texas Center for Disability Studies at UT-Austin seeks to learn more about healthcare transition readiness in youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We hope to develop and provide resources and supports to individuals and families navigating healthcare transition.
