29 Acres is a nonprofit with 4 different programs and a supported living community for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neuro-diversities designed to elevate quality of life by creating an environment that results in greater self-fulfillment and independence. 29 Acres offers Transition Academy, which is a two-year residential program for young adults motivated to live independently and gain employment, as well as a daytime community program (Enrich), employment services, and a Summer Transition Camp!

The Arc of the Capital Area provides innovative programming and guidance for individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families. Programs consist of Adult Case Management, at-risk Juveniles Case Management, Art & Education, Employment Services, and Community Outreach. Our goal is to support the community to have meaningful, inclusive lives!

AIM is a non-profit community of active adults with disabilities like autism and Down Syndrome who live vibrantly and independently in their own apartments with appropriate support.



The Austin Harmony Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to enrich the lives of adults with developmental disabilities through art, music & communityHarmony provides innovative programming for adults with developmental disabilities ages 22 and up. 



Austin Parks and Recreation is home to four unique adult day programs for individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities. Our programs provide daily opportunities to have fun, improve social skills, develop peer relationships, learn leisure skills and build self-confidence.  The program is designed by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.

Brookwood in Georgetown (BiG) is a residential and vocational community that empowers adults with special needs (Citizens) to become artisans, bakers, gardeners, and more. BiG equips its Citizens to realize their God-given talents and provides opportunities for them to engage in truly meaningful work. All items created are then sold in BiG's award-winning retail shop, cafe, and greenhouse, which offers additional vocational opportunities for our Citizens. Our mission is to not only provide our Citizens with a place to belong, but to change the way the world views those with special needs.

Our mission is to provide long-term affordable housing in a caring, dedicated spectrum community to those with Level 1 Autism Spectrum Disorder who have the skills, ability, and desire to live semi-independently with limited (~2 hours/wk) individual support by resident advisors.

Independent Identity is a center and community based day program for adults with autism/IDD. Individualized goals and treatment plans are created using principles of ABA in order to maximize potential and quality of life. We serve clients of all ability levels, however we specialize in working with clients with higher levels of need and/or challenging behaviors.

J'Miah's Place is a Vocational Training Center offering a safe, respectful, stimulating, educational, healthy atmosphere to individuals with disabilities ages 18 and up.  We offer Vocational Planning; Supported Employment; and Job Placement.

The LIFE Project promotes self-confidence and self-sufficiency for young adults aging out of the foster care system and homeless young adults by providing independent living housing options and skills development.

Marbridge is a residential community located in southwest Austin serving individuals with intellectual disabilities or developmental delays. Three communities accommodate care levels ranging from semi-independent to medically fragile nursing needs. Training and education and employment coordination available at some levels. Primarily private pay, nursing facilities accept Medicaid.

Mary Lee Foundation has group homes and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental illness including: Intermediate Care Facilities, Home and Community Based Services, Texas Home Living, private pay supported apartment living and a Day Program. We provide services in Travis County only. Our main location is just south of downtown Austin and we have several group homes further south in Austin. Others live independently or with families throughout Travis County. We offer services to people of all ability levels but we specialize in getting people into the most independent living setting possible and getting people involved in their community through work, school, volunteering and leisure.



Next Step Transition Center is not only an HCS and TxHmL service provider, a day habilitation center, and a group home, but also a home away from home for all of our young adults. Our day program gives young adults a place to increase their confidence by working on their independent living, social, and vocational skills daily. Rock House has group homes, day habilitation/workshop programs, host homes and other services. We learned a long time ago not to put limits on what a person might be able to achieve, because no one knows how much untapped potential a person has. We find that people learn a lot more when they are HAPPY and PROUD of themselves, so our teaching emphasizes personal satisfaction, independence, and responsibility.

UP-PF is geared toward individuals with disabilities who have aged out of the school system.  It is a place where individuals can come and feel welcomed, share their God-given gifts and talents and build community partnership on our way UP!  Our vision is to build a vocational community where Partners learn and work side by side with peers to engage in meaningful work and service to the community.  UP-PF is a center for adults with disabilities creating art, crafts and goods for sale.
