Laptops / Technology / mLISD
In Leander ISD we believe that the student laptops will be essential learning tools for all secondary students. We have a 1:1 laptop initiative called mLISD (Mobile Leander ISD). This means we provide a district owned laptop to students for a yearly fee.
- Students will be expected to bring their laptop to school every day, fully charged and ready for learning.
- Laptops cannot be dropped off at school office if left at home.
- Students can bring their own laptop device (it will need to have an operating system and full size keyboard)
- Eagle Tech is available daily 8:10-8:45 in the library and CRMS has a campus technologist, Richard Hill on site.
Families will be provided a choice in the way they wish their student to participate in mLISD:
- District Provided - Students may choose to use a district-issued device and will be asked to pay an annual fee to cover accidental damage protection, support and maintenance of the device. Devices will be checked out to students, just as textbooks have in the past. If a student moves, or violates any of Leander ISD guidelines and the student loses access to the mLISD device, the support fee will not be refunded.
- BYOT- Some students already have a laptop and may choose to bring their device to school to use as a learning tool.
How do I receive a district issued device?
- 24-48 hours after you have registered, go to QUICK LINKS/ MLISD on the CRMS homepage.
- Create an account, pay the mLISD fee, print the receipt and turn it in to school librarian for distribution on laptop
