Throughout the school year, 8th graders will receive lessons from the counseling department to help them with their academic, social and emotional growth. You can find information about those lessons here:
September: Introduction to Naviance and Academic Goal Setting
In this lesson, students will review how to access their Naviance account through LISD Launchpad. Naviance is a tool that students will use in 7th-12th Grade in LISD. It can be used to register for courses, explore career and academic courses, monitor their course credits, apply to colleges and much more. Students will also set a POST SECONDARY goal in Naviance during this lesson. Lessons will be during ELA classes.
October : The Four Year Plan in Naviance
In this lesson, students will start to create their high school 4 -Year Plan as they learn about 9th Grade course options. Lessons will be during ELA classes. This is only a draft plan in preparation for CPHS Counselors who will be presenting to 8th Grade on November 11th. Keep in mind this is only a draft. The CPHS Counseling Department will return to do 1:1 visits with students on January 13th and January 14th.
September- CPHS Counseling Department will present high school course information to 8th Grade during Science classes.
December - ECHS 8th Grade Presentation during Lunch period.
January - Leander HS AJROTC 8th Grade Presentation during Lunch period.
January - CPHS Counseling Department 1:1 visits with 8th Grade during Science classes.
January - 8th Grade Invasion at Cedar Park High School.
January - CPHS Make up 1:1 visits with students who were absent.
