August: Introduction Lesson with AP
We began this lesson with introductions of your 8th grade counselor and AP. We review expectations for safety in and out of school. We also discussed courses, who to contact, drills, events and grades.
September: Introduction to Naviance and Academic Goal Setting
In this lesson, students will review how to access their Naviance account through LISD Launchpad. Naviance is a tool that students will use in 7th-12th Grade in LISD. It can be used to register for courses, explore career and academic courses, monitor their course credits, apply to colleges and much more. Students will also set a POST SECONDARY goal in Naviance during this lesson. Lessons will be during ELA classes.
September 29th- CPHS Counseling Department will present high school course information to 8th Grade during Science classes.
October : The Four Year Plan in Naviance
In this lesson, students will start to create their high school 4 -Year Plan as they learn about 9th Grade course options. Lessons will be during ELA classes. This is only a draft plan in preparation for CPHS Counselors who will be presenting to 8th Grade on November 11th. Keep in mind this is only a draft. The CPHS Counseling Department will return to do 1:1 visits with students on January 13th and January 14th.
October 7th- ECHS (Early College High School) presentation to all 8th graders during Flex in the GYM.
January - Leander HS AJROTC 8th Grade Presentation during Lunch period.
February 8th & 9th - CPHS Counseling Department 1:1 visits with 8th Grade during Science classes.
January 21st - 8th Grade Invasion at Cedar Park High School.
February - CPHS Make up 1:1 visits with students who were absent.
March 11th -ALL schedule changes are due!
