Latework/
Redos
When students complete a redo for an assessment/project, or turn in work late, they MUST complete a separate CIF (Continuous Improvement Form) for EACH assessment or project. An email does not fulfill the requirement for completing the CIF. The teacher uses this document to make changes to grades.
The GRADES will NOT be changed/updated until the Continuous Improvement Form is filled out that is located in the student’s Google Classroom under the Topic titled “Continuous Improvement Form”.
Late work or redos may take up to 5 school days for teachers to update grades after the due date. Please do NOT email or contact the teacher to put grades in for late work prior to that.
Missing assessments will be recorded as an “M” in Home Access Center (HAC), which averages as a “0”. Once the student has turned in the assessment, the grade will be replaced with a grade.
If the student was absent the day of the assessment due to an illness, a “M” for missing will be entered in HAC until the assessment is complete.
If a student will be absent due to a school event, the assignment is still due on the date given.
Students will have until the last Wednesday PRIOR to the end of the grading period to correct or complete any assessment they wish to improve their score on. There is no penalty for turning in late work.
Retakes/
Improvements
Students will be able to correct major assessments and or projects up to an 80%. The method of correction will vary based on the assessment. After completing corrections, students must complete a separate CIF for EACH assessment.
For the level of mastery check ins, students who make below a 70% will be pulled in during the FLEX period on Fridays to work in a small group with their Science teacher to correct misconceptions and demonstrate their new learning, which will then be used to update this score to a 70%.
