Teacher corrections can only be made for the current grading cycle
If a student has been marked absent in error, it is the student's responsibility to email the Teacher of record within 3 days and request a correction.
The student should include:
Student’s Full Name (birth/legal name)
Student ID Number
Date/Period they were incorrectly marked absent
Due to TEA guidelines, the Attendance Office is unable to correct attendance until we have received confirmation, via email, from the Teacher of record requesting the change.
If there was a substitute, please include a brief description of what was done in class so the teacher can verify if the student was in attendance.
If there is a special circumstance and the teacher of record is out for an extended period of time, your student can reach out to their Assistant Principal for assistance.
If a student is more than 10 mins past the tardy bell the teacher will mark them absent.
Please allow up to 5 days after email confirmation is received for the absence code to be updated.
Students should monitor their absence daily in the LISD Home Access Center (HAC) to check for accuracy and to ensure attendance errors can be updated before a grading cycle is closed.
Coding for previous grading cycles
Please remember you have up to 48 hours after your student returns to school to submit attendance notes in a form of a parent or medical note. We can only code during the current grading cycle. Our attendance office is unable to make attendance changes based on a parent note for previous grading cycles. We will accept and code based on a medical note, and we will keep your email on file in case our assistant principals have any follow-up questions about the absence.
