Boozhoo! Welcome to the Music Department!
This is a place where one will hear the beautiful sounds of students creating, growing, and learning. When you travel into the elementary music room, you will experience the joys of students developing life-long skills as they dance, sing, create, and learn the language of music. As you travel into the middle school music room, you will witness the challenging and rewarding work students put in as they learn a new instrument in band class, or hone their singing skills in choir.

Who are we?
Music prepares students to participate in the world around them outside of school. From sporting events, to Pow-Wows, to other community gatherings, music is present in all of our lives. We seek to prepare students to actively join their community and help continue to lift it up. Music also prepares students to thrive in other everyday activities. To name just a few, music helps students develop team building skills, the ability to listen to others, the ability to create and problem solve, and the gift of strengthening their brains by learning a new language.
We at the LDF music department know the importance of being connected and establishing relationships with students, parents, elders, and leaders in our community. The role models in our lives, from teachers and grandparents, to friends and many Lac du Flambeau community Elders, have taught us an abundance of values and skills that we hope to pass on to our students. We seek to have fun and laugh with our students while we hold them to the high expectations of these skills and lessons that we know they can meet. Our wish is that they exceed our expectations and soar into beautiful, life-long learners, community members, and musicians - in whatever that looks like for them.
