Contests are optional for all third through fifth graders. Students work on contests independently, and at least one winner receives a prize from the prize table for each contest. Second place, third place, and honorable mention entries are also recognized. Below is more information about each contest.
Poems are judged by an outside source, such as high school students or our local arts council.
Poems are printed and combined in a binder to be on display during afternoon activities.
Photos are judged by our local arts council.
Photos & paragraphs are printed and displayed on I Love Math Day.
All photos are shared in a video during the Awards Ceremony.
Songs are judged by a musician in the community.
Students who do not have a way to record at home are allowed to record a song at school.
All songs are compiled onto one web page that students can access during the afternoon activities.
As students arrive at school on I Love Math Day, volunteers are on hand to take a photo of each child's shirt. They then combine all photos and select winners.
All photos are compiled into a video that is shared during the Awards Ceremony.
