Talk about kindness, boundaries, digital citizenship, and online privacy.
Encourage your student to speak with a trusted adult if something feels uncomfortable or unsafe.
Contact the school when peer concerns affect a student's sense of safety or ability to learn.
Middle schoolers benefit from growing responsibility with supportive adult guidance. Encourage students to communicate with teachers, manage their materials, solve age-appropriate problems, and reflect on their choices.
Listen first. Acknowledge your student's feelings, help them identify possible next steps, and remind them that asking for support is okay.
