Keeping up grades in high school can be tough, but it’s even tougher when juggling sports. Freshman student athlete Tucker Bohn has learned how to juggle good grades with multiple sports throughout the school year. Bohn began to play sports around age 5 or 6 and plans to continue to play at the next level after graduation.

On January 26, the BHS Archery team competed in their first official meet of the season. Lewisville, Indian Land, Lancaster, Ridge View from Columbia and Buford squared off. The Jackets brought home top honors in the match. Not only that, but almost every archery member increased their top score by 15 to 20 points. The top shooter for A Team was Abigail Conwell with a 273, while B Team’s top shooter was Yates Bradley with a 254. Good Job Jackets!
Archery Coach, Sgt. Marcano is proud of the team for not only securing the victory, but showing massive signs of improvement. “I’m very proud actually, I think that since we started this a year and a half ago, we’ve accomplished so much, so for them to go from shooting 210-224 to 250-260, I can’t be nothing but proud.”
With this victory, the Jackets look to keep up the winning streak for the rest of the season. Sgt Marcano added, ”I really think that they will keep this up and hopefully if we continue the way we’re going, we’ll go to Kentucky again.” The Archery National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky is the end goal for many archery teams all over the US. You gotta be good to make it there!
