What is Indoor (winter) track?

It is the winter version of spring track.  It is a great opportunity to train with friends or get a jump on the competition by focusing on technique, etc. It allows athletes to practice events they enjoy and it is a good opportunity to try out a new event that you have an interest in.

What are the practice requirements?

Practices are Monday through Friday from 4:30-6:30 pm. 

Are there meets?

Yes.

Is it really indoor?

Not exactly. Most meets are outdoor (called Polar Bear Meets), but the regional and state meets will be at an indoor facility.  

All practices (with the exception of the weight room) will be outside.

Are there cuts?

No.

What events are there?

Sprints - 55m dash, 300m dash, 500m dash

Mid/long - 1000m, 1600m, 3200m

Hurdles - 55M hurdles

Relays - 4x200, 4x400, 4x800

Field Events - Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump

Cost?

$75 LCPS athletic fee is required! It must be given to the athletic director after 11-14-22.  

Do I need a physical?

Yes! Physicals must be turned in with all LCPS Athletic forms to the athletic director prior your first practice.
