Coaches

Kent Staneart - Head Coach  and Middle/Long Distance

Coach Staneart ran HS track and XC at Caroline High School in Virginia before competing at St. Andrews College and Spring Arbor College. He ran events from the 400 meters through the 10K. His coaching career began 28 years ago at Montrose Christian School where he coached XC, basketball and track. He also coached basketball and track in SC and FL before taking over the head track job at Loudoun Valley in 2005. He moved over to Woodgrove upon it's opening in 2010 where he has been the head coach since.


Robert Zach - Hurdles/Sprints 

Robert Zach has coached hurdles, sprints, and sprint relays at Woodgrove since the spring of 2017. He has coached multiple All-State athletes,  including one state champion in the 300 hurdles. Coach Zach holds USA Track and Field Level 2 certifications in Youth Specialization and Endurance. In addition to coaching track and field, he continues to officiate soccer at the youth, high school, and collegiate level. Prior to coaching at Woodgrove, he coached youth soccer in Loudoun County for many years and holds a US Soccer National Youth coaching license.


Todd Turner - Jumps/sprints

Coach Turner is a former division 1 track and field athlete where he competed at George Mason in the jumping and sprinting events. He currently serves as the girls JV basketball team coach and asst Varsity girsl basketball coach. He is in his fourth year as Woodgrove's full-time jumps coach and sprints coach


Kelly Pollard- Sprints

Kelly Pollard coached one year at McDowell High School in Erie PA following college graduation  in 1992.  Fast forward to 2017 when she met Kent Staneart at a WHS We're All Human event and she began volunteer-coaching Spring Track in 2019.  She joined the Spring Track coaching staff full-time in Spring 2020 where she supports sprinters, relays and mid-distance runners. Coach Pollard has coordinated Girls on the Run programs at Mountain View and Leesburg Elementary Schools for the past four years where she works as a school social worker.  She is a USATF Level 2 licensed coach.  


Jennifer Herrin - Throws Coach

I have been in education for over 25 years, and I have been in LCPS for over 15 years. I am currently a US History teacher at JLSMS.  I began my love of throwing in middle school and threw in high school.  I started volunteering as a throws coach at High Point HS in Prince George's County Public School in the mid 90s and eventually became the head track coach and program director for the program.  I am excited to be going into my 2nd year with the Woodgrove Track program.
